Itinerary Details

Day 1 | Welcome to Uganda

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your guide will warmly welcome you before transferring you to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, you can relax, recover from your journey, or explore the nearby area before your adventure officially begins tomorrow.

Day 2 | Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary & Journey to Murchison

After breakfast, travel north to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can track wild rhinos on foot. Accompanied by experienced rangers, you’ll walk safely through the bush while learning about the successful conservation efforts that have brought rhinos back to Uganda. After lunch, continue your journey to Murchison Falls National Park, where you’ll spend the night surrounded by nature.

Day 3 | Murchison Falls & Nile Boat Safari

Today begins with a visit to the Top of Murchison Falls, where you’ll witness the mighty Nile squeezing through a narrow seven-metre gap before crashing 43 metres below. It’s one of Uganda’s most impressive natural spectacles.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari along the Nile towards the base of the falls. Along the way you’ll spot hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, and an incredible variety of birdlife while enjoying one of Africa’s most scenic waterways.

Day 4 | Sunrise Safari & Swamp Walk

Wake early for a morning game drive across the savannah, when wildlife is most active. Keep your eyes open for elephants, giraffes, lions, buffalo, antelope, and, with a little luck, even a leopard. Later in the day, experience a guided swamp walk, offering a completely different perspective on Uganda’s ecosystems. Discover unique plant life, colourful bird species, and the smaller wildlife that thrives in these wetlands.

Day 5 | Chimpanzee Trekking & Local Traditions

Travel to Kibale National Park, home to one of Africa’s highest concentrations of primates. After a briefing from your ranger, set off into the rainforest in search of wild chimpanzees. Watching these energetic and intelligent primates swing through the forest is an unforgettable experience. Later, visit the famous Banana Man to discover the surprising number of products that can be made from bananas, before continuing to a local coffee farm to learn how Uganda’s world-renowned coffee is grown, harvested, roasted, and brewed.

Day 6 | Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today you’ll explore the beautiful Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, famous for its remarkable concentration of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, and hundreds of bird species gathering along the shoreline. As the temperatures cool, head out on an evening game drive, when many animals become active once again and the golden light creates perfect wildlife viewing conditions.

Day 7 | Into Bwindi & Batwa Community Experience

After breakfast, continue your journey into the lush mountains of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Before tomorrow’s gorilla adventure, you’ll meet the Batwa people, the original inhabitants of Bwindi’s forests. Through storytelling, traditional dances, hunting demonstrations, and music, you’ll gain insight into their rich culture and deep connection with the rainforest. Spend the evening relaxing at your lodge, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of the forest.

Day 8 | Gorilla Trekking & Return to Bukomansimbi

Today is the moment you’ve been waiting for. Following an early morning briefing by the Uganda Wildlife Authority, you’ll venture into the rainforest in search of one of Bwindi’s mountain gorilla families. The trek can take anywhere between 2 and 8 hours, depending on where the gorillas are located, making every encounter unique.
Once found, you’ll spend one magical hour quietly observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Watching them feed, play, groom, and care for one another is an experience few people ever forget.

Did you know mountain gorillas share approximately 98% of their DNA with humans? Every trekking permit contributes directly to protecting these endangered animals and supporting the surrounding communities.
After your trek, you’ll return to Hotel Hollandia in Bukomansimbi, where you can unwind after this unforgettable experience.
