3 Days
Upon arrival in Uganda, you’ll be welcomed by your driver-guide and begin the drive toward Fort Portal, a town near Kibale National Park. The route offers a look at Uganda’s green countryside, with views of hills, farms, and tea estates along the way. Stop in Fort Portal for lunch before continuing to your lodge, where you can settle in and rest ahead of tomorrow’s forest walk.
Start your day with an early breakfast before heading to the Kanyanchu Visitor Center—the starting point for chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest. The forest is home to 13 species of primates, with chimpanzees being the main attraction. With the help of experienced guides, you’ll walk through the forest to locate and observe them in their natural setting. After lunch, continue to the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, where a guided walk introduces you to a rich mix of birdlife, monkeys, and wetland vegetation.
Enjoy a relaxed start to the day before beginning the drive back to Kampala. You’ll arrive in the afternoon, with drop-off at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport, depending on your travel plans. This brings your short but rewarding primate-focused journey to a close.
