Itinerary Details

Day 1 | Arrival in Kigali & Transfer to Bwindi

Arrive at Kigali International Airport in Rwanda, where your driver will be waiting to begin the road transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. The route takes you through Rwanda’s rolling hills before crossing the border at Cyanika. On arrival at your lodge, settle in and enjoy lunch. The rest of the afternoon is free for you to take it easy and get ready for tomorrow’s forest walk.

Day 2 | Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a short briefing on how to conduct yourself around the gorillas. You’ll then set off into the forest with a guide and trackers to locate a habituated gorilla group. Depending on where the gorillas were last seen, the walk can take between two and nine hours. Once found, you’ll spend up to an hour quietly observing them as they go about their day in their natural environment.

Day 3 | Return to Kigali & City Tour

Following breakfast, you’ll check out and return to Rwanda via the Cyanika border. Back in Kigali, take a guided tour of the city, stopping at key places like the local craft market, the Genocide Memorial, and the Kigali Museum. This is also a good chance to pick up some last-minute items before continuing to the airport for your flight home.
